Champions League Clubs on Facebook [Infographic]

Two weeks ago, German marketing agency Divia released a blog post and infographic inspired by our “Top 30 Teams on Facebook” white paper ranking each of the twenty (20) Champions League teams from 2011 according to the strength of their Facebook Page marketing. Dankeschön Divia for the shout out!

Google and Your Memory [Infographic]

As we customarily do at Activ8Social in our spare time (because we simply love digital marketing and social media so much), we were scouring the social web for interesting thought leadership when we came across a compelling infographic about the human mind. The research and graphic design, both done by OnlineColleges.net, explores how Google is affecting our memory and how exactly we learn when we search for facts online.

Monday’s Social Mashup: September 26, 2011

Facebook’s f8 Conference last Thursday showed the largest social network has some major changes in store for your profile. With that said, this week’s Mashup is going to catch you up to speed on what you will be seeing in the near feature with Facebook’s new profile layout, Timeline. We’ve also covered Facebook’s new partnerships with Spotify, Netflix and Hulu. In other news, Google+ is open to the public and has a bunch of new features and Foursquare hit 1 billion checkins.

How The Original Twitter Looked

Last week, Jason Kottke from the famed kottke.org blog posted a screenshot of one of the earliest public versions of Twitter. The service was originally named twttr by Noah Glass (an original co-founder pushed out of the company by Evan Williams) inspired by photo sharing service Flickr and the five-character length of an SMS short code.

We’ve all checked in somewhere or at least seen a friend check in to a restaurant, sporting event or concert, but have you ever wondered what demographic is powering the social media check in and auto tagging their location? Well, we’re here to shed some light. Visible’s research in the infographic below was taken from Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project.
