T      he highlight of every teenage girl’s life is going to prom. Girls spend weeks planning every detail of this quintessential high school experience, from finding the perfect dress to finding the perfect date. But what if you’re a touring female professional golfer that’s home schooled?

More focused on winning golf tournaments than the color of her corsage, LPGA rookie Lexi Thompson has recruited her fans to help her get ready for prom. Through a Facebook photo contest, Lexi has asked her fans to help decide who to take to her prom. Fans can also provide inspiration for Lexi’s prom look on Pinterest (more details to be announced).

To honor those serving our country, Lexi has asked members of the military to submit their picture and tell Lexi and her fans why they should pick him to go to prom with her. “… I’m looking for somebody special and somebody I respect. That’s why I’m choosing a guy from the service,” said Lexi.

The qualifications? “I’m thinking the minimum requirement is probably 6-feet-2,” joked her mother, Judy Thompson. Besides height, her potential date must be a member of the military and between the age of 18 and 20. Lexi is asking each potential date to their story of how they embody the core values of the military including respect, honor, and integrity.
