Description
We are looking for a talented graphic designer to join our team and make an immediate impact on the agency. Primary areas of responsibility include assisting our developers on interactive projects by designing web apps and campaign microsites as well as the creation of original logos, digital advertisements, and infographics.
Ideal Candidate
- + Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience as a graphic designer with an interactive focus
- + Strong knowledge of Adobe CS5; specifically Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- + Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle projects for multiple clients
- + Knowledge of how HTML, CSS, Flash, and AJAX impacts web design comps
- + Ability to create superior, original designs for the web
- + Understanding of branding, layout, color theory and typography

PHP Developer
Description
Activ8Social is looking for a back-end developer who enjoys writing elegant, concise code. You’ll be working both individually and with a small team of passionate developers and designers to build web apps, mobile apps, and campaign microsites for some of the world’s most recognizable names in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle.
Your role is to ensure that we produce user experiences that are robust, efficient, and standards-compliant. While you will be responsible for the development, testing, and documentation of web-based software and technical solutions, you are more than just a programmer. You will be involved in all stages of client engagements, from application design through specifications documentation and production programming.
As A8S continues to grow, we need a creative problem solver who is interested in building out the agency’s core development team and also excited to work directly with our VP of Products to create proprietary technology.
Ideal Candidate
- + Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and MVC paradigms
- + 2 years or more experience developing in PHP and with MySQL
- + Experience working with social APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc.)
- + Know any or all of the following: CodeIgniter, Git, EC2, Unix, WordPress
- + Possess start-up mentality and strong team skills
- + Ability to quickly adapt to new situations and technologies
- + Ability to maintain regular communication around scheduling and scope
- + Comfortable with both server-side and client-side work

- + Developed an app outside of work or school

Social Media Intern

Do you have a passion for web design? Do you spend your days “pinning” away and admiring that cool Instagram gallery? Are you looking for an internship that will build your portfolio and introduce you to CSS/HTML? Then we’ve got the internship experience for you!
At Activ8Social, we’re big believers in learning by doing and that’s exactly why our internship program has experienced such success in helping to place students post graduation. Primary responsibilities of a design intern includes supporting creative work for client pitches, assisting with the UI/UX of our FanScore product, and supporting all other interactive needs, both social media and web. You will report directly to our Senior Designer and one of the agency’s Partners.

For part-time student interns, we request a minimum of 10-15 hours each week in the Arlington office.
