THE DETAILS

WHO?

We are seeking a passionate student with either experience in and/or a passion for social media marketing and web design (Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator) skills.  We need someone knowledgeable of established platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr in addition to emerging social media services like Foursquare and Instagram.  You must be disciplined enough to make your own time yet meet all deadlines.

Key attributes and skills for desired applicant:

  • Energetic team player
  • Strong written skills
  • Passionate about social media
  • Not afraid to contribute ideas

WHAT?

We don’t ask our interns to stock the fridge or make dry cleaning runs … we actually rely heavily on your creative vigor and give you a voice to sell your ideas if you’re ready to step up to the plate. As a member of our team, you will have a vested interest in Super Bowl XLVI and the MTV O Music Awards.

Intern role includes but is not limited to the following client facing duties:

  • Digital word-of-mouth (WOM)
  • Ideation of new contests and promotions
  • Web design and graphic design
  • Project management support

A8S also needs assistance with the agency’s marketing assets including case studies, white papers, presentations, blog posts, daily newsletter (#sports), and social media accounts.

We love creative types so if photography or videography is a hobby, we’re probably going to ask to break out that awesome DSLR camera and help capture all the cool things we do.

WHERE?

Our office is conveniently located at 3140 N. Washington Blvd in Arlington,‎ VA‎ across the street from the Clarendon metro station. However, we are also open to you working remotely a portion of the time. Turns out we’re a social marketing agency, so we’re flexible by nature! We certainly understand if you can’t resist that free wi-fi and good eats at your local Panera or Starbucks.

However, to enhance the experience, we do ask for face-to-face time:

  • 1-2 days per week in the office
  • Monthly review meeting with A8S Partner
  • Team-building activities like happy hours and high fives
  • Conferences and local networking (intern’s choice)

WHEN?

As a full-time intern, we expect a minimum of 30 hours per week. However, additional time commitment is welcomed. For part-time student interns, we request a minimum of 10-15 each week depending your role with the team.

WHY?

Wondering about the benefits of working with a young, quickly growing social marketing agency like Activ8Social? Point blank—it is a combination of rare opportunity mixed with unparalleled experience.  The InterActiv Experience is a full court press, fully involved, learning by doing internship program. You will be asked to take on critical tasks that directly contribute to the company’s bottom line, and if you make a measurable impact, we will strongly consider making you a permanent member of the Activ8Social team.

Like every opportunity in life, our internship is what you make of it, so ask yourself this.  Can I demonstrate enough inventiveness to design a case study worthy contest like a Foursquare social media scavenger hunt?  Do I want be a forward thinker in a nascent but quickly growing multi-million dollar industry?
